Mini Cycling Clinics
(Rider Stories)

Cycling ClinicsBruce Christensen (56) LAPD/Bike Unit Coord., Masters Road: “In addition to helping me improve my skills, train smarter, and win 4 gold medals at the Western States Police and Fire Games, I want to thank for your past and current help improving the skills of our instructing officers at the LA Police Academy and privately coaching our Police Academy Captain, Michelle Veenstra.  You have amazing communication and observation skills. Your mini cycling clinics really helped improve the effectiveness of our officers and the bicycle program."

Cycling ClinicsSuzie Given (28) UCLA Grad Student, Cat 4 Road: "Each skills session and mini cycling clinic, I learned new technical pedaling, sprint, climbing, and descending drills. I continue to go faster and become more confident. My performance has excelled exponentially. Dave has commentary on every aspect of cycling, and is very personable, so learning flourishes."

Cycling ClinicsMark Rich (49) Property Management, Masters Road: "I’ve known David for nearly 20 years as a friend and coach. Dave's private sessions and mini cycling clinics were of great interest to me. He taught me climbing and standing techniques, pedal stroke, form, faster and safer descending, and proper breathing that helped me accomplish my best season ever. I can honestly say that I owe my recent racing successes to David!!!"

Cycling ClinicsSean Pitts (34) Amgen Employee Cat 3, Road: “After 3 years of trying to race, I was still a cat 4 and only on the podium twice.  After hiring David, I had a remarkable season. I was top 10 finish in a major SoCal stage race and multiple podium finishes ending with a cat 3 upgrade.  I really believe David’s technique sessions and clinics are what helped me excel so quickly.  His “FootFloat” pedaling methodology and ability to communicate and simplify otherwise complex handling techniques is "first in class" and I’m a true believer!”

Cycling ClinicsChris Schneider (52) Teacher, Recreational: "I had been riding for 18 years, but was horrified on descents. Everyone I rode with had to wait at the bottom, even if I was first up. I regularly practiced the apex, eye line, and weight distribution techniques David taught me during our Technik Sessions. I was soon descending faster than half the pack on the Barry Ride hitting speeds of 43mph. This was twice what I could do before. Riders on my club said they had never seen me go so fast. Previous to David, I felt good about climbing, but the other areas of descending, pack riding, sprinting were skills I just didn't have. Now, I am a more well rounded cyclist who pedals in circles and rides with more smiles, then grimaces."
